The Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health (LGBRIMH) was at first set up as Tezpur Lunatic Asylum under the British Government in April, 1876.
In 1922 the medical clinic was rechristened as Tezpur Mental Hospital. With the advancement in the field of psychiatry over the globe, steps were additionally taken to build up this emergency clinic with present day offices.
