Mahatma Gandhi College, the foundation devoted to the memory of the Father of the Nation was built up in the year 1948 by the incredible social reformer Bharatha Kesari Sri Mannathu Padmanabhan. It is one of the biggest and most established foundations of advanced education in the capital city of the province of Kerala kept running by the biggest instructive organization of Kerala, the Nair Service Society.
It capacities with the target of offering some benefit added quality instruction to all with extraordinary accentuation on the financially poor areas of the general public maintaining the maxim "Sa Vidya Ya Vimukthaye". It has 13 UG, 10 PG and 7 research programs in the resources of essential science, humanities and sociologies.
It has been certify by NAAC at 'A' level in the main Phase. In the second period of accreditation it held the "A" level with a CGPA of 3.16. College Grants commission gave the school with the status of CPE (College with Potential for Excellence) and granted a help of Rupees 1 crore for advancement of foundation and lead of different projects in first stage. . The establishment was chosen for the honor of three FIST (Fund for Improvement of S&T Infrastructure in Universities and Higher Educational Institutions) projects of the DST (Department of Science and Technology, Government of India)
