I am very pleased to present a profile of our SRI GOWRI DEGREE & P.G. COLLEGE. Sri Gowri Degree & P.G.College has been promoted by Sri Gowri Samkshema Samithi. Sri Gowri Samkshema Samithi established in the year 1990, with the objectives to promote medically advisory camp in Rural areas and awareness programmes among the rural area People to improve their economic status, establishment of general academic institutions like Schools, Colleges, to promote Vocational traning centers. The District Collectors and other Higher Officials were praised and appreciated our Samithi.In the same year we had applied to grant permission to start a Degree College with the Combinations of B.SC & B.COM. The College started functioning form the academic year 1991-1992 with the affiliation of Andhra University by that time Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.V.Ramana. The College was inaugurated by Dr.M.Gopal Krishna Reddy the then Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University . The College was started in a rented building upto 2001. Meanwhile we constructed a highly sophisticated, spacious own building with 1378.3 Sq.yards for the college , adjacent to Urvasi theater and the College was shifted to our own building in the same year i.e 2001, Simultaneously we introduced Post Graduate courses in our college in the same year and hence the name of the College was changed to “ SRI GOWRI DEGREE & P.G. COLLEGE”.Since the College has been progressing from year to year by maintaining discipline and academic standards in education among the student community. This College is one among the few, which were promoted purely on charitable lines with a large involvement of 128 life members . Once again, the members and donars are congratutaled for their supportive co-operation and selfless service in the cause of education and community service. I also congratulate to Principals and all my staff members (Teaching & Non-Teaching staff) for their involvment to strengthen the College day by day. By the Grace of Sri Gowri Maatha the name of the College is in top 10 Colleges in the Andhra University region.With a view to expand the educational activities , a land of 5.18 acres was purchased at Amruthapuram in the year 2011, and constructed a new building in the year 2014 in which the College for DIPLOMA FOR ELEMENTARY EDUCATION was started in the year 2016

Computer Laboratory
Considering today's need for computerization, our College is proud to have all the infrastructure facilities in certain faculties such as Commerce, Geography and Mathematics. These departments have their own computer laboratories with modern equipment and necessary software (Microsoft Office, Mathematica, Matlab, Latex, C++ software, etc.) to meet the needs of students. In addition, the library also has an e-resource center, which provides access to e-resources among other things.
Library
Shahid Bhagat Singh College has a fully computerized barcode library. The library has a computer lending system with barcodes. We have two computers dedicated to OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) book searches. This collection is enriched by his over 86,796 books on various research fields. The library also subscribes to over 100 of his periodicals in various fields (national and international, specifically Harvard Business Review, The Economist, etc.). The library also has a small computer lab for accessing electronic resources subscribed to by the College of Delhi through the College's intranet and the Internet. The Library also holds orientation programs from time to time and provides orientation in electronic resources for accessing bibliographic databases and full-text databases available through the College's intranet and the INFLIBNET Consortium and Information Literacy Program. Students are encouraged to inquire about various library services with Dr. Puja Anand Gulati, Librarian.
Canteen
The College campus has a spacious and well-ventilated canteen building with ample seating, separate from the academic blocks. We provide students and faculty with a variety of snacks, food, tea, coffee, and other beverages at low prices. The canteen committee monitors food quality, care and hygiene. A proposal to renovate the cafeteria was recently approved by the Building Committee and Board of Directors.
Seminar Rooms
The College has two seminar rooms equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. The College organizes seminars, workshops and lectures with the active participation of students and teachers. Prominent scientists and experts from academic and business organizations are invited to interact with students and give lectures.

Placement Experience College is very supportive always and the quality of placements provided is also very good. The average salary offered was 3L per year. The maximum percentage of students who got placed were around 65%.
