Why Indian Institute of Technology?

The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras is a self-sufficient statutory association working inside the Institute of Technology Act. All the IITs are regulated halfway by the IIT Council, a pinnacle body built up by the Government of India. The Minister of Human Resource and Development, Government of India, is the Chairman of the Council. Each Institute has a Board of Governors in charge of its general organization and control. 

The Senate including all educators of the Institute chooses the scholarly approach of the Institute. It controls and endorses the educational program, courses, assessments and results. It selects boards of trustees to investigate explicit scholarly issues emerging every now and then. The educating, preparing and look into exercises of different branches of the Institute are intermittently inspected to improve offices and look after gauges. The Director of the Institute is the ex-officio Chairman of the Senate. 

There are three Senate Sub-Committees, to be specific, Board of Academic Research, Board of Academic Courses and Board of Students to support scholarly organization and effective working of the Institute. The Finance Committee exhorts on all budgetary arrangement matters while the structure and Works Committee prompts on issues identifying with structures and works exercises. What's more, the Board of Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research; and Library Advisory Committee informs on issues with respect to modern consultancy and library matters individually.
