S.M.D.R.S.D. College Society, Pathankot started S.M.D.R.S.D. College of Education in the year 1998 and the foundation stone was laid down by revered Late Ch. Balwant Singh Ji, who had a vision to start this college for the benefit of the people who could not afford higher education outside the town. The college has proved itself a pioneer institution of its kind as it’s the first institute of the region to start B.Ed. and E.T.T courses. Initially it began with an intake of 60 students which grew to 100 in the coming years. Presently it is having two units of 50 students each (Total one hundred students) of B.Ed. programme and a single unit of 50 students of D.El.Ed. (E.T.T.)programme. This college has the honour to be recognized by NCTE and affiliation with GNDU, Amritsar. This college all the time envisions the quest for excellence and endeavors its mission to prepare competent and committed performers with an urge for excellence anywhere in the changing & challenging scenario.To make the pursuit for excellence an integral element of Teacher Education to contribute to the advancement of emerging global society.S.M.D.R.S.D. College, Pathankot is the premier most institution of higher learning in district Pathankot established in the year 1953 by Late Chaudhary Kesho Dass Ji, Ex. M.L.A., Pathankot. The institution was established with the sole aim of service to the people of this backward area. The founder President of the college Choudhary Kesho Dass Ji was highly intelligent, industrious and an enlightened person with the farsighted vision and dream. He gave his vision and dream of higher Learning a shape in the form of S.M.D.R.S.D. College, Pathankot- a premier multi faculty post graduate college affiliated to G.N.D.U. Amritsar. It is located on Jalandhar/Jammu Highway in Pathankot which is a converging point of three states viz-a-viz Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu-Kashmir.Enlightened management of the college gives high priority to faculty development and is doing yeoman’s service for the growth of the institution. Present management is headed by Chowdhary Dr. Rajeshwar Singh Ji who is the Life President of the society. He has reiterated the commitment for the growth of the college by transparent and supportive management. It is because of the positive attitude of the management towards its faculty, that the teaching faculty is highly stable, dedicated and committed. The college has various departments and administrative wings. The college is spread over many acres of land in serene, picturesque, lush green campus in sprawling and pollution free environment.

Computer Laboratory
Considering today's need for computerization, our College is proud to have all the infrastructure facilities in certain faculties such as Commerce, Geography and Mathematics. These departments have their own computer laboratories with modern equipment and necessary software (Microsoft Office, Mathematica, Matlab, Latex, C++ software, etc.) to meet the needs of students. In addition, the library also has an e resource center, which provides access to e resources among other things.
Library
Shahid Bhagat Singh College has a fully computerized barcode library. The library has a computer lending system with barcodes. We have two computers dedicated to OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) book searches. This collection is enriched by his over 86,796 books on various research fields. The library also subscribes to over 100 of his periodicals in various fields (national and international, specifically Harvard Business Review, The Economist, etc.). The library also has a small computer lab for accessing electronic resources subscribed to by the College of Delhi through the College's intranet and the Internet. The Library also holds orientation programs from time to time and provides orientation in electronic resources for accessing bibliographic databases and full text databases available through the College's intranet and the INFLIBNET Consortium and Information Literacy Program. Students are encouraged to inquire about various library services with Dr. Puja Anand Gulati, Librarian.
Canteen
The College campus has a spacious and well ventilated canteen building with ample seating, separate from the academic blocks. We provide students and faculty with a variety of snacks, food, tea, coffee, and other beverages at low prices. The canteen committee monitors food quality, care and hygiene. A proposal to renovate the cafeteria was recently approved by the Building Committee and Board of Directors.
Seminar Rooms
The College has two seminar rooms equipped with state of the art equipment. The College organizes seminars, workshops and lectures with the active participation of students and teachers. Prominent scientists and experts from academic and business organizations are invited to interact with students and give lectures.

Placements: Around 80% of students got placed easily. The highest package offered was around 5 LPA, and the lowest package was about 2 LPA. Around 60% of students got internships. The college supports you in every possible manner and guides you towards your future.Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available on the college premises, and the speed of Wi-Fi is also good. Labs, classrooms and library are regularly cleaned and maintained. The quality of food in the college is good, and they prepare different food items on different days. Special food is available on special occasions.Faculty: All the teachers are qualified, helpful and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is awesome. They will definitely help you to clear your concepts. The course curriculum is relevant and makes the students industry-ready. Exams are quite difficult.
