PGP College was established in the year 1994. It is located in the Namakkal, Karur NH-7. The PGP College of Arts and Science was established by our beloved Chairman Dr. Palani G.Periyasamy M.A.,M.A.,Ph.D (USA). The state of the art facilities in the college encourage the students to develop their various skills. The college runs in an eco-friendly environment and produces healthy education to the students. Our College offers 18 courses at the U.G. level and 17 at the P.G level. Research work has also been growing steadily alongside these courses. We start offering M.Phil and Ph.D (part time and full time) courses from the year 2007. The PGP CAS takes care to give in the young individual an integrated personality.

LIBRARY
MELVIL DEWEY Main Library of PGP College of Arts and Science has set its vision, to the maximum satisfaction of the institution in imparting the highest quality of Technical Education. Our Library is offering the most modern facilities and infrastructure in an aesthetically designed modern library building.Our Central Library is housed in a spacious area of 5000 sq.ft. The stock as well as issue and return and renewal are all fully computerized with Bar-Coding provision and the transactions all are automated. Our library has got a seating capacity of 100 seats, out of which 60 are air conditioned.The Central Library is located in PGP College and it is the biggest library with 500 students and 250 readers visit library every day. It works on all working days from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm.
Canteen
A well catered canteen to meet the needs of all students is maintained in a neat and hygienic manner. The canteen is large enough to accommodate most of the students at any time.

The Placement Cell was formed in the year 2006-2007 and it functions effectively under the Chairmanship of the Principal and two teachers with the main Objectives to establish linkage between the Institutions and various Schools in and around Namakkal. To encourage the students to participate in campus interviews and to facilitate the students to be placed in the reputed institutions., the cell informs the various schools in and around Namakkal about the Provision for conducting placement interviews in the college, gives information to the students about the available vacancies, make proper arrangements of campus interviews, forwards the application of students teachers to the placement centers on their request.Letters sent to various private schools in and around Namakkal Interviews are being conducted at our campus. Most of our B.Ed trained candidates got the jobs through the TRB exams conducted by Govt of Tamilnadu. 16 Students from our college have cleared the exams and are now working in Govt schools and as PGP College of Arts and Science . in PGP College of Arts and Science scheme.
